Today, the House Judiciary Committee voted to advance the so-called Religious Freedom Restoration Act—harmful legislation that would grant individuals and businesses a “license to discriminate” against LGBT Hoosiers under the guise of religious beliefs.
This dangerous bill now moves to the House floor—our final chance to stop it before it becomes law.
Despite this misguided committee vote, today undoubtedly proved that Hoosiers of all ages, faiths and political backgrounds are united in opposition to this harmful bill that would have devastating consequences for our state.
And as hundreds of Hoosiers rallied together at the Statehouse today—and many testified passionately against RFRA—it’s clear that our movement to protect LGBT Hoosiers from discrimination has never been stronger.
